Our History

LineVision is a new company built on a foundation of over 15 years of research, innovation, field testing and utility validation in the area of non-contact transmission line monitoring.

2005-2014 The Promethean years

Promethean Devices pioneered and patented the non-contact monitoring of transmission lines, and validated this technology through close cooperation with utilities including ONCOR, Southern Company and ConEd. Stephen Syracuse led Promethean during these years and continues to be a trusted advisor to and investor in LineVision.

2015-2017 The Genscape years

Genscapea leading global provider of real-time data and intelligence for commodity and energy markets, acquired Promethean Devices in 2015.  Under Genscape, the LineVision team refined the technology and completed several successful pilot programs with transmission line owners and regional grid operators. Genscape continues to support LineVision as a shareholder, supplier and strategic partner.

2018 LineVision's launch

The spinout of LineVision in May of 2018 launched an innovative company dedicated to advancing the state of the art in Transmission Line monitoring and asset management for utilities worldwide.
